Value Definition Workshop
The Value Definition Workshop is a structured activity aimed at defining and agreeing upon the core values of a company. It involves collaborative sessions with key stakeholders and team members to identify and articulate the fundamental beliefs and principles that will guide the organisation's culture, decision-making, and operations.
Goal
The goal of the Value Definition Workshop is to ensure a shared understanding and commitment to a set of core values that reflect the organisation’s ethos, influence its culture, and guide its approach to work and collaboration among autonomous empowered product teams.
Context
Teams that can make decisions quicker have a competitive advantage. But with decentralised decision making there is a risk that teams will make decisions that are not aligned with the company's culture, brand and strategy. This is where shared values come in. They provide a clear set of principles that guide decision-making and behaviour, ensuring that teams are aligned with the company's mission and vision.

Anti-patterns
- Unclear or Generic Values: Vague or overly generic values can be meaningless and fail to provide clear guidance.
- Inconsistency Between Values and Actions: If the company's actions don't reflect the defined values, it can lead to employee cynicism and confusion.
