Press Release and FAQs

Press Releases (PR) and associated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are way of writing up information about a product or service from the perspective of the customer before the product is launched. This is a way of ensuring that the product is customer-focused and that the customer's needs are being met.

Purpose

The purpose is to ensure that the product is actually solving real customer's needs and not just business needs. This is done by providing a press release explaining the benefits of the product and how happy customers are as well as detailed FAQs that answer common questions that explain how the product works and how it will benefit the customer.

Anti-patterns

  • Internal Focus: Focusing on the business needs rather than the customer's needs.
  • Overly Technical: Using technical jargon that the customer may not understand.
  • Lack of Detail: Not providing enough information to validate if the product will really meet the customer's needs.
